Well I’m watching CNN right now about the Blagojevich scandal…While I do believe that the guy showed weak morals and should resign, it really isn’t fair that he isn’t allowed to bring all his witnesses and play all the FBI tapes. Of course it is most likely a circus-act to waste time and delay things, but he should still have the right to do so. If he was requesting things unrelated to his hearing then it would make sense to not grant his requests, but when it’s about witnesses and secret recordings of him, then regaurdless of how trivial most of the information is, the fair and just thing to do is let him bring out all the evidence. I believe the prosecutors that there is not relevent information in most of it, but then whats the harm of playing it all? A few days wasted, but nothing negative. The slim chance that he really isn’t the kind of guy that prosecutors paint him as is enough to justify wasting a little time of some senators and governors.
